First, carefully inspect the cut to make sure it hasn't resulted in any broken limbs.
Then, you can bathe the cut in a solution...
Boil some water and let it cool until it is a bit warmer than lukewarm. Add a drop of antiseptic to it: this can mean salt, alcohol, whatever you're comfortable with, really. Do this once or twice daily for a while, until the cut heals or maybe even a few days after.
Until it heals don't stress over it, it shouldn't hurt your little hammy.
Try taking it to the vet because you may not be able to fix it on your own.
let the hamster be but if the hamster is not walking take it to the vet
you should go see a vet to do something about it. tell your parents so you can see the hamster's foot
your hamster might be limping so but its claw on a washcloth, take it to the vet, or call a vet. If your hamster is not doing anything it is probably in a lot of pain.
take it to a vet to see if its anything serious
its hand shouldn't come off.
take em to the vet. you duffis!
WHY would you want to give a peppermint to a hamster???? Hamsters don't eat peppermints in the wild.
Only Syrian hamster can be fed fruits. Dwarf hamsters can eat fruit but don't feed your dwarf hamster too much fruit otherwise they can get diabetes. I recommend feeding your hamster a little piece of fruit once to twice a week. Here is a list of fruits that are okay for your dwarf hamsterFruitsApples that are seedlessBananaBlackberriesBlueberriesCantaloupe.CherriesCranberriesGrapes that are seedlessLycheeMangoMelonPeaches with no stonePlums with no pitsRaspberriesRaspberry Leaves. These can cause diarrheaStrawberriesyes hamster love fruit and vegetables!!!:)i have 2 hamsters (teddy bare hamsters) they love fruit & veggies:)you can feed them any fruit but the only vegetables they can have are...*carrots*lettuce(in small pieces)*tomato(only a small piece, less than half of one a day)*celerythey can also have oats!!!:)they love those well at least my hamsters do!!!:)
Yes. Pesticides are deadly poisens and toxins designed to kill. Hamsters, birds and other small creatures are particularly vulnerable to the effects of these.
Other than the hamster resembling a miniature guinea pig, they have nothing in common. A hamster is a rodent whose native habitat is a desert and the guinea pig is not a rodent. Hamsters are able to hold food in their two front paws, but guinea pigs can't do this. Hamsters actually have more individual toes than guinea pigs do. You have to periodically trim guinea pig nails, whereas you do not have to do that with hamsters.
Try separating them for a little bit (like a day or two). When you put them back together, rub beeswax all over both of them. Then they smell like each other and except each other better. If that doesn't work, then you probably should get another cage.
There is no purpose. They are just harmless little animals that wont hurt you at all.
Answer 1YES!!! I have one and he bites me everytime i pick him up. Answer 2They tend to bite quite a bit compared to other breeds of hamsters. Russian Dwarf Hamsters in particular Answer 3They do bite but they only do it because they are scared and if your woried it might hurt well don't it doesn't hurt at all its like a little pinch
The cage's stuff is okay to touch. Just don't touch the baby hamsters or anything too close to them.
there very small and tend to bite well it doesn't hurt and its tails are pretty long
It depends on the species or breed of hamster. Syrian hamsters are strictly solitary. They will fight if they live in a cage together. Dwarf hamsters usually are best kept in pairs, so rarely they will fight, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
hamsters should NEVER be handled by children under five, because they will handle it wrongly, or drop it (and even kill it), and the hamster will turn around and bite the children if they hurt it
Yes because if they were thing you might hurt them they will bite and mother hamsters do to
All the animals that I can think of bite--except for goldfish. Russian Dwarf hammies DO bite, but it's in their natural instinct. You can tame this out of them, though. It will take a lot of time and patience. I am saying this as an experienced dwarf owner. Play with the hammiw everyday, DO NOT wake it up while its sleeping, and feed it food and treats by hand.yes, Russian dwarf do bite, i had the same question and had my hamster answer it. Dwarf Hamsters are more 'Nippy' and more territorial of their cages than Syrian, if you scare you hamster or take it away from its food bowl it may bite if you want to try this it might help: put a towel on your hands then place the hamster on you hands with the towel on it, make it trust you again by , talking nicely to it and it should start to trust you after a while....... hope this works for everybody!!!! no fancy Russian dwarf hamsters do not bite but most other breeds of hamsters do
No, not everything, they need smaller cages - preferably plastic ones as dwarf hamsters can sometimes fit through the bars. A smaller wheel too, a hamster can hurt itself if its on a wheel that is too big.
Hamsters should live in cages that are sealed and closed all the way because they are escape masters. Wire cages are not good for hamsters because they can bite the wire and damage or hurt their teeth. Cages can be found at lots of pets stores. Make sure there are places to burrow because hamsters love to hide when they sleep..
Hamsters usally bite if you touch them in the wrong placeor if they are in stress or if they hurt them self
honey bear hamsters are the best, the only way to get them to bite is to make them mad,or hurt them.
