Can you get a baby rabbit when already have a 2-year old male rabbit?

Your rabbit lives alone but has pulled fur out is the a phantom pregnancy?

If your female rabbit is pulling fur and can't be pregnant, she may be having a false pregnancy. False pregnancies are stressful for rabbits. Spaying the rabbit will prevent false pregnancies, and ovarian cancer, and have other benefits. There are other reasons your rabbit may be pulling her fur: She could have parasites or other skin problems. Bring the rabbit to a vet for treatment. She could be suffering from stress. Learn how to ease a rabbit's stress, and consider what improvements you might make to her lifestyle. See the related questions and links below for more info.

Why has the female rabbit become aggressive towards the male now that she might be pregnant?

If your female is an adult, it may not get along with a young rabbit. Do not just put a new rabbit in a cage with your old rabbit. Get both rabbits fixed first, to get rid of hormones that will make them aggresive and terratorial. To read more about bonding rabbits, and other rabbit information go to www.rabbitnetwork.org or www.rabbit.org/care/index.html if those link don't work, use copy and paste. The second site has tons of info. You can also ask questions about rabbit care to a person at a pet store, rabbit shelter, rabbit owner, or vetrinarian.

When does a rabbit have its last litter?

Technically there is no age where a female rabbit could stop getting pregnant. However, older rabbits may have very high infant death rates, or they might die before they are born. Sadly an older rabbit who becomes pregnant might pass away herself because it is too stressful for her to handle.

What does it mean to have a dead rabbit in your bedroom?

It could be a way for a woman to express that she is pregnant. During the 20's and 30's tests for preganancy involved animals, and a casual way that a woman might express that she was pregnant was to say something like "The rabbit died". It was not a woman's pregnancy itself that caused a rabbit to die, but the rabbit had to be killed so that its ovaries could be examined. If a woman was pregnant, then injections of fluids from the woman into a rabbit would cause the rabbit to ovulate, indicating pregnancy... or do you mean that your pet rabbit died? In that case, never mind...

Should you separate your pregnant guinea pig if it lives with a rabbit?

Yes, you should. The rabbit might try to harm the baby guinea pig or try to take it in as it's own. ---- YES! They should not be housed together even if a guinea pig is not pregnant! They can injure each other.

How can you tell when your rabbit is pregnant -- do they get fat?

Only very experienced rabbit handlers can gently palpitate the rabbit's abdomen to feel the little baby rabbits. If you do not know what you are doing, you could hurt the mother and kill the babies by doing this. If you think your female rabbit might be pregnant, provide it with a nest box so it can start building a nest. A few days before she is ready to deliver, she will start pulling out her own fur and padding the box with hay. Be aware however, that some female rabbits have 'false pregnancies' and may start to build a nest even though they are not pregnant.

How do you tell if your bunny is pregnant?

First try to recall if the rabbit had been in contact with a male rabbit in the previous 30 days. If so (or if you do not know) then feel the rabbit for any loose hair. They usually begin to shed a lot in order to use their hair to make a soft nest. Also, watch for unusual or repetitive behavior. She might destroy a few things like socks, again for the nest, or seem agitated. If you feel the abdomen and there are marble like lumps, then she is pregnant. However do not try to feel the abdomen if you are not experienced because it could harm the rabbit. Most importantly, you should visit the veterinarian. They will know for sure if the rabbit is pregnant.
