The Territory of Louisiana was the other part of the Louisiana purchase that became the State of Arkansas and everything North of that.
(The land north of Lake Ponchartrain and east of the Mississippi River was known as "West Florida" and was owned at the time by Great Britain.)

There are also parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta that were in the Louisiana Territory.
The State of Louisiana was not in the Louisiana territory, as the Louisiana Purchase territory had been divided into the Territory of Orleans, which became the State of Louisiana, and the District of Louisiana, which became the Territory of Louisiana.
