There are some Bible expositors that draw parallels between the four living creatures described in Revelation 4:6,7 and also in Ezekiel 1:10 and the four gospels as the portrayal of the four views of Christ. The four living creatures in the book of Revelation, each having four faces - a lion, a calf (or an ox), a man, and an eagle corresponding to the four gospel accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Matthew presents Christ the king, the son of David, the lion of the royal tribe of Judah. Mark presents him as a tireless servant of the Lord, with the strength and the endurance of an ox. Luke gives an account of a perfect man, and John tells us about Him, that was from the beginning, walking in the Holy Spirit, high above the circumstances of life, just like an eagle soaring high above the earth.
