intertingly enough there is no penalty for not enroling to vote, So as long as you avoid enroling you wont get caught. However if you are on the electoral roll and you don't vote you will be sent a notice asking you to explain why you did not vote. if you can produce a doctors certificate you can say you were sick. or else you could sat you went camping that weekend and forgot all about it. I think it was about $110.00 If the fine is not acted upon you will end up having your drivers licence suspended and your car rego suspended until it is paid.
