Could be a couple things, best case is your valve covers gaskets are bad, and worst case is your intake is leaking.
from the top of the motor is probably a faulty or bad valve cover gasket Could be the oil pressure sensor, it is located next to the distributor.
Oil comes up through the head (top part of the motor) and leaks from the muffler.
It is leaking oil or burning it.
If it is red fluid leaking, then you have a transmission leak. If it is oil then the rear main oil seal is leaking on the back of the engine. You need to look at the top back part of the engine to make sure the back of the intake is not leaking oil, check back corners of the valve covers for leaks too. Need to make sure the oil sending unit that is back beside the distributor is not leaking oil. Ruel these things out before you tackle the rear main oil seal.
If oil is leaking at the top of the motor on a Yamaha 250 Bear tracker this could be caused by a head gasket or valve seal. To locate the exact source of the leak try removing the bolt near the top of the motor and use degreaser to clean the area. Once the area is clean run the Bear tracker to locate the leak.
This can be an indication of moisture in the oil. Possibly a leaking head gasket.
HelloYou have an oil leak is what is means.
Because it's leaking.
That depends on where the oil leak is, is it in the motor self or is one of the seals leaking?
You may have a oil leak, and oil us leaking onto the hot motor making that smell
take vehicle to a car wash wash engine so no oil is left on it then you will be able to see where oil is leaking from when it leaks take vehicle to a car wash wash engine so no oil is left on it then you will be able to see where oil is leaking from when it leaks
If a motor is burning oil it means the rings and seals on the pistons are worn. Are you sure it's burning oil and not just leaking oil? Check your motor for leaking oil clean the engine. Cover your alternator with plastic and use degreaser to clean it. Once it's clean run the motor and look for leaking oil from the valve covers, from the head(s) and head gasket(s), from the oil pan and drain plug and from an oil cooler and oil cooler hose ( if your vehicle has one). If your vehicle is burning oil it will show up at your exhaust pipe as oozing black sticky stuff. Hopefully it isn't burning oil because if it is you need to have your motor rebuilt.
