Okay so i try playing with my brand new turtle beach m5 headset on steam but it doesn't seem to recognize the mic but it works for Skype facetime ext I have a macbook pro by the way please help?

First make sure your headset is listed in the Soundpreferences in the System Preferences.
Input/Output.
Also make sure the mic is listed as your headset and not your built-in mic on the computer.
Open Steam and go into the upper Steam menu (upper left corner of the desktop) and select the Preferences.... Look under Voice and it should have your headset listed. Check every thing out. You have to click on the Test Microphone button in order for the mic to become live.

Don't go buying a Macbook Pro, that laptop is expensive and to a 12-year old, it makes no difference between a Macbook Air and Macbook Pro. Both MAcbook Air and original Macbook have high memory for games and school projects, downloads etc. Take note that the Macbook Air has no disc drive. So if he or she is into watching movies or playing CDs, choose the original Macbook. Hope this helps!
