I just had to replace my Crankshaft position sensor and the part was $48 and the labor was $106. To answer your question, yes.
Through the fluid dipstick tube. Ensure you check level will idling....
Either your fuel is burning too rich or you have an idle censor out. new idle censor's are not expensive
== == You may have a short in the wiring or something is wrong with the computer system in the car.
If the 1999 Cadillac Catera idles too fast, the cause could be a faulty idle stop solenoid. It may be damaged or it may have become loose. If it is idling rough or seems erratic, the problem could be a faulty EGR valve. Other problems could be a vacuum hose leak or a clogged PCV valve.
If the coolant is low ( watch for leaks )it will act as you say. Fill it up , leave rad cap off for 5 minutes while idling to bleed air, and try it.
get the poor old thing tuned up , only pay someone that knows what theyre doing ... cuz if you have to ask what to do i strongly doubt youre going to be able to do it yourself
It depends, if it was idling you may get lucky. Most of the time it needs 4 new valves per cylinder and that means the heads have to come off. As much to fix as the car is worth usually.
A failing throttle position sensor will cause idling problems when the car is warm. The failing sensor can also cause the car to stall when idling.
Check the throttle position sensor
Check the coolant level first. If it's low the water pump might be having a little trouble moving coolant through the cooling system. If that isn't it, the impellers of the water pump might be worn.
The bad idling may be due to a faulty Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Have the computer scanned for trouble codes to confirm before replacing.
It could be that your car is idling to low, the throttle position sensor can be bad
