I think you can wear it on any finger you want. I wear mine on my wedding ring finger because when I get married I think it would be special for my husband to take off my promise ring and replace it with my wedding ring.

It is believed to have been derived from the Romans, as it was thought that the vein in the fourth finger was connected to the heart directly. Many countries have their own traditions with some Catholic and some Orthodox countries wearing the ring on the right finger.
