To repair the traction control system on your 2000 Grand Am, start by checking the wheel speed sensors for any damage or dirt, as they can cause intermittent issues. Inspect the wiring and connections for any signs of wear or corrosion. If these components are in good condition, you may need to scan the vehicle for diagnostic trouble codes to identify specific faults. Depending on the codes, you may need to replace the traction control module or other related components.
The enhanced traction system, or ETS, on a vehicle allows for better handling in certain weather conditions. DIY repairs for these systems are generally not recommended; they should be done by a qualifiedÊmechanic.

If the traction control light in your Mercury Grand Marquis keeps coming on, it could be due to several reasons. Common causes include a malfunctioning wheel speed sensor, issues with the traction control system itself, or problems with your vehicle's ABS (anti-lock braking system). Additionally, low tire pressure or worn tires can trigger the traction control system. It's advisable to have the vehicle diagnosed by a professional to identify the exact issue.

The "Track Off" light on a Pontiac Grand Am indicates that the vehicle's traction control system has been disabled or is malfunctioning. This can occur when the driver manually deactivates the system or when the system detects an issue. It's important to address any underlying problems, as traction control helps maintain stability during slippery conditions. If the light remains illuminated, it is advisable to consult a mechanic for a thorough diagnosis.
ets is enhanced traction system ... pretty much, it prevents the wheels from slipping and increase traction (obviously) but, its wicked fun to turn off because the tires spin out essentially, the way this works is that the system reduces engine output ... so there you go
It is the front wheel drive traction control light. When your tires spin on wet roads the traction control helps regain your tires grip on pavement. Find the button and push it. The "trac off" light will go off and it will show "traction active" only when the system is in use. Note that you cant do a burn out with traction control "on". :)
one of your front wheel bearings is bad. they are a hub assembly with an abs wire when one goes bad it will shut the abs and traction system off.
New battery fixed the problem.
