It's called a producer :)

Wow that is terrible grammar and you didn't even answer the question correctly; an organism that makes its own food is called an autotroph. A heterotroph is an organism that does not produce its own food and relies on consuming other organisms. Autotrophs are the source of energy in most ecosystems.

At least they can write it nicely. Unlike Mr. Smarty Pants.... =)
