Owl monkeys have the face of an owl!
I believe it to be a vintage Iver Johnson pistol
The owl's head was an Iver Johnson trademark. The model 1900 was made from 1900 to 1947.
It's a "Safety Automatic" revolver, but would need to know the exact markings including patent dates to determine which model and year of manufacture. The C prefix was used for several years and the numbers duplicated with Second Models and Third Models.
Ivers Johnson has an Owl head on the top of the grip
Midway USA
American Handgunner, Nov-Dec, 2004 by Mike Cumpston The ornately figured hard rubber grip engraved with the characteristic Owl Head confirmed it an Iver Johnson Hammerless Safety revolver of the third type. The hinged barrel locked solidly into the frame and the cylinder displayed minimal side play and no end-shake. The bore and chambers were perfect. The gun had been fired very little, if at all. It had the good grace to bc chambered for the still-available .38 Smith and Wesson Cartridge--a pocket pistol standard since the late 1870s.
