Basic pay is based on $50 per unit you manage. Though this differs from company to company. Some pay as low as $25 per unit managed, some even pay more than the $50. The payment is broken down to: monthly cash payment, Rent credit, Water/sewer/electrical. Eg. mine is $1600 monthly cash salary + $935 rent credit + w/s/g/e paid. In addition to this, my medical premium is paid + 25k Life insurance. Though I work more than 40 hrs a week and my paid is salaried. So for every hour is work over 40 in a week my income goes down proportionally.
Very important point to take into consideration. The $50 per unit payout does not continue when you manage greater than 50 units. Consider a Resident Manager with 200 units to manage, at $50 per unit the monthly payout would be $10,000. Usually 200 units pays out about $3,000 to $4,000 total compensation.

Your Store Manager and anyone above them can check how much you get paid. Some Swing Manager can see if they do Payroll or hand you your check, but that is only if this is allowed by your Store Manager.
An apartment can not ask you anything.....however, it seems the apartment manager has.....and I do not think this is legal. The manager can, once you've been arrested due to drugs, have you evicted.
