The meaning is: Don't do things to other people, which would be offensive to you if someone else has done it. I.E. if I live in glass house, and someone would throw a stone at me, then the glass would break and I would have to pay a lot of money to fix it, so I shouldn't to the same thing to others and throw stones at people's houses. (Even if the don't live in glass houses, there might be other reasons why it's bad)
The main issue here is, I think, that nothing is certain and if something offensive to you, it may be also offensive to other people for totally different reasons.
Yeah, but why would you live in a glass house? Or throw stones in your house?
The moral isn't literally meaning about throwing stones in glass houses. it's more about doing something then telling someone else not to do it.
The meaning of this is that people with problems shouldn't criticize others.
PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULDN'T THROW STONES - "Those who are vulnerable should not attack others. The proverb has been traced back to Geoffrey Chaucer's 'Troilus and Criseyde' (1385). George Herbert wrote in 1651: 'Whose house is of glass, must not throw stones at another.' This saying is first cited in the United States in 'William & Mary College Quarterly' (1710). Twenty-six later Benjamin Franklin wrote, 'Don't throw stones at your neighbors', if your own windows are glass.' 'To live in a glass house' is used as a figure of speech referring to vulnerability." From "Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings" (1996) by Gregory Y. Titelman (Random House, New York, 1996).A further counsel bear in mind:If that thy roof be made of glass,It shows small wit to pick up stonesTo pelt the people as they pass.Don Quixote 1605Miguel de Cervantes 1547-1616
The meaning is if you have mistakes do not criticize people in a negative manner over their mistakes. You might think the meaning doesn't relate to the phrase but it does. It relates by saying you shouldn't damage other people or things with stones, when your own house can very easily be destroyed by the stone. The stone in this manner would be your words, and the house is you.
This sounds more difficult than it is. If you live in a glass house ( life of peace which is so fragile ) why would you throw stones ( chaos, negativity, bad attitude, poor life choices, and quite simply having something to hide! ) The hardest life to live is A life of peace in today's world! I hope this Helps! TAG III
Glass.
It may resemble the phrase: "What goes around comes around", if you were to throw a stone hard enough at glass, it would undoubtedly shatter. This means that do not throw stones at others, because if someone was to throw a stone back, then you would resent it.
They should always think that there will be a mad man with stone in his hands opposite to their house. It's from a proverb written in the 1600's. -shouldn't throw stones is the rest it means don't criticize others for something you do yourself.
You can't you can make house but not roof house is concrete and bricks also who knows
you can trade shards for stones in hunters house. His house is southwest of mossdeep.
The Glass House is an actual song that one would listen to on their mp3 player and is not some type of structure or enclosure allowing people to visit.
In a Glass House was created in 1973-07.
If you think about a house made entirely of glass, it would be pretty vulnerable to any rocks thrown at it. The owners should not provoke their neighbors by throwing rocks at them, because their own house could be easily destroyed if the neighbors retaliated. Don't be a hypocrite. If you accuse someone of doing something a bad when everyone knows you do worse, someone could easily call you out on it. Your reputation will, in a word, shatter.
