To change the spark coil pack on a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire with a 2.4 engine, first disconnect the battery. Then remove the coil pack and spark plug. The spark plug should also be replaced with the new coil pack for best performance. Insert the new spark plug, then the new coil pack being careful not to bump any of the many other electronic parts. Then reconnect the battery.

Your Sunfire has two coil packs, located on the back side of the engine as viewed from the front of the car. Find a spark plug wire and follow it back.
The very bottom of the engine. Plug is at rear.
The plugs on 2.3L and 2.4L OHC engines the gap should be at 0.050 in.

Need to know what size engine it has.
im not sure but if you follow the spark plug wires they will take you to the coil packs
At the spark plugs. the long part of the wire goes on the plug and the L shaped end goes on the coil pack under the intake manifold which is between the engine and the firewall, but you also have to know the firing order at the plugs and at the coil pack.
