In short, yes.
A longer more detailed answer... no.
Unlocked phones are typically meant for GSM networks, such as AT&T and T-Mobile.
Boost runs similarly to Nextel, which is on an iDEN network. It's what incorporates their PTT.
Unlocked RIM Blackberries do not typically have the PTT feature, but should work for calls and possibly texting. Data would more than likely not be covered, especially if you're looking to do their $50/month unlimited plan.
