Poor organization is the most common reason for lateness. People wait until the last minute, and then do not allow themselves enough time to travel. In order to be on time for school and work, you should figure out how much time it takes you to travel from your house to your school or job - add ten to fifteen minutes to that number - this gives you a little bit of leeway in case traffic is bad or there is an obstruction like a wreck or a railroad train. Have your things organized so that you do not spend a lot of time hunting all over the house for clothes, books, keys, etc. Learn how long it normally takes you to get dressed and ready to leave - again, give yourself an extra ten minutes just in case! - it is better to be ready early and have time to stop for a drink than to be ten minutes late. Set your alarm and get up when it sounds - don't get into the habit of "just another five minutes" because it will just make you late. If you are still tired when you wake up, then you need to start going to bed earlier - teens and children need ten to twelve hours of sleep every day; adults need six to eight hours to be completely rested. If you spend a bit of time planning ahead, you can be on time every day.

∙ 13y ago"Tardiness" can be caused by many reasons. In some cases, it's legitimate, as in "the bus was late", etc.
In other cases, some students are "tardy", because they hate facing a class that they know will either bore them or disrespect them.
In many cases, (they) dislike their teacher ----- and would rather do 200 lbs of laundry than atttend (his or her) class.
In that case, I can certainly relate to that. I studied Latin in H.S. I hated the teacher and would rather be tardy (hoping I would dispelled) than sit through (her) class.
It's a case-by-case situation. Is a student tardy because of a legitimate reason, or is he or she tardy, because they would rather be burned at the stake, than attend (whatever) class.
A difficult question to answer. I hope someone can answer it better.

I have never heard of anyone paying to pass high school, but that does not mean it has never happened. If it has, it is extremely rare and a very unwise choice; a choice that is likely to come back to "haunt" the one who got out of high school that way. Some students do not realize how important school is until years after they graduate. For that reason alone, the best choice for students, even if they do not like school and think it is stupid, is to do their very best. That assures the student that there will be no chance for regrets about school later in life.
