You are asked to do this for your own good, and you are hurting yourself and no one else by not doing assignments and lying about the reasons. Tell your teacher that you had alot of other homework to do, and that although you wanted to do it, your computer broke down, printer is broken, lost it, or have a responsible parent truthfully explaing to the teacher the REAL reason you did not do it. But if one of these things do NOT apply to you, DO NOT LIE NO MATTER WHAT THE CAUSE. Remember these are assigned to you for a reason, to help you learn. Dont be lazy, just do it. The report, or more accurately, the process of writing the report is boring because you are approaching the assignment with the wrong attitude. You have an opportunity to learn something, express yourself, and demonstrate your knowledge of something. If you approach the assignment as a useless task, you will probably produce a poor report.

First off, do you understand the assignment? What criteria must be met? Can you see an example of what a quality report contains?

Second, if you break the assignment down to simpler sub-assignments, it may be easier to complete the overall assignment.

Third, your report will need an introduction and a conclusion. These do not have to be written in their respective order. Both of these can be written AFTER the body of the report has been written.

Of course, you need to read the book. As you read the book, ask yourself some questions and take some notes. Just jot down your thoughts. At this point don't worry about grammar or spelling. What do you find interesting about the book? Is there a character that you found intriguing? Why? Who is the antagonist? What is the protagonist's challenge? Do they meet the challenge? How? What about the author's writing style? Does it keep your interest? Why or why not? What about the author's use of literary technique (foreshadowing, allusion, irony, etc.)? Is there a particular passage that you found interesting or confusing? Why? What is the author's point of view? Do you agree or disagree with the author? Why?

The point of a book report is to analyze, evaluate, and draw some conclusion about what you have read.

Ask your teacher for more guidance. Show some interest. Can you compare or contrast the assigned book to something else you have read? Can you express your personal opinions regarding the book or the author?

Writing a book report is not all that different than watching a movie and discussing it with your friends afterwards. What was it about? Who were the main characters? What was the problem? How was the problem solved? Was it enjoyable? How did it compare to other movies or books you have read? Would you recommend it to others? Why or why not?

When you have finished the initial draft, have someone else evaluate it before you hand it in. Is your writing clear? Is your grammar correct? Are there any spelling errors? Are your quotes and citations formatted correctly?

If you approach the assignment with the proper attitude, you will gain a lot from completing the report. You will use your mind to express yourself. And you will get satisfaction from a job well done.

Boredom, Laziness, too tired, not understanding the questions, forget book at school. well one reason for sure is that lots of kids are so fat and they need to be outside more not stuck inside doing math.

a second is kids get stressed easily over having to much homework and their brain starts telling them they don't like that subject and lots of times they give up and stop trying to work so hard
