The song is "Church" by Trocadero.
This theme, written and played by Bill Payne, was not included on the movie's soundtrack album. I know that decision had nothing to do with Mr. Payne, because I wrote to him hoping to find a recording of it somewhere, and he himself told me that it was sadly unavailable.
The people who develop credits for films are given the names and titles of contributors, plus the contractual obligations for position and relative type size that some contributors have negotiated in their project contracts. The format, per se, is not a standard, and the credits people craft examples of credits that the director and perhaps producer review and approve before the final credits are crafted.
Go to Ear-tweak.com and select 'The Music' to see all the opening and ending theme songs used in the show. (If you look closely enough during the credits [somewhere in the beginning I guess] you should see Ending Theme and underneath it will be the name of the song playing).
According to the credits, it's "Whatever Gets You By" by The Features.

It isa great (closing)theme song - the only place that I can find it (the longest version of it that is) is on youtube, the end of the very first episode in 1968. I would love to get the sheet music for it and learn it on the piano.

Depending on how big of a production it was, some can last up to five or six minutes, while others are a mere two ore three. You can alter the speed of your credits if you want to make them seem longer or shorter.
Well, it depends on which season you're watching. The first season is Change the World, but it changed a couple times afterwards. If you look hard enough, you can usually find the title in the beginning credits.

Although he often gets no credit, the theme for the original 1960's Wild Kingdom was written by Al Cobine. Cobine was a composer, arranger, musician, big band leader, contractor, and politician. He was also a classmate of Jim Fowler while at Earlham College. I have found that episodes from season one say "theme music by Al Cobine" in the ending credits. They used his music for years, but I have not found him listed in the credits after the first season.
The song played at the start of the program is 'The Chain' by Fleetwood Mac.
The theme song for Black Butler Season 2 is "SHIVER" by the GazettE. It is used as the opening theme for the season.
