The latest year for the Savage model 18 12 ga. bolt action shotgun is 1951. these were sold by SEARS, MONTGOMERY WARD, WESTERN AUTO, and other Department Stores. They were made by Savage under the Individual store's coinciding brand name. I just bought one on Auction Arms and I had to dig up the year in order to buy it under my CURIOS & RELICS F.F.L.
Ranger 101.2 was sold by Sears and made by Savage (called the Savage 238). The dates are unclear, but some report they were made from 1935 to 1945 (others says longer for the Ranger). A good bolt action shotgun, fed by a magazine. Simple, reliable, well built shotgun.
