Check your heater core. ANSWER I'm not a mechanic but isn't the thermostat supposed to be a 190 F unit. With a 160 F the engine would run cooler , read cooler on the guage, and the heat from your heater wouldn't get as warm as it should ( just like what happens when a 190 degree F. thermostat sticks open )
The thermostat is done it has to be replaced.......
There is supposed to be an engine thermostat . Do you mean that someone has removed the engine thermostat ? What year of Ford Ranger and what year ?
Just the thermostat and the gasket.
sounds like a bad thermostat even though it is replaced
change thermostat
The 1992 Ford Ranger 4.0 liter had a 197 * Fahrenheit thermostat from the factory
The defrost is cooing your coolant by circulating the fluids through the heater core. Check the water pump to insure that its pumping and check the radiator for blockages in the fins. Also check for an air bubble that can happen when a thermostat is replaced.
The heater valve may not be engaging or the heater core may be blocked.
My 97 4.0 Ranger's thermostat is in the front of the engine. I has two bolts you have to take off. I had to replace the gasket. Leaked when I got on it hard. It's called the "thermostat housing. Thermostat is easy to replace. Great engine.
yes if the motors are the same.
do you have to remove fan shroud to access thermostat housing on a 1997 2.3L ford ranger
