It's not illegal if you have permission from the pool's owner. If you haven't you might be charged with trespassing and maybe vandalism/destruction of property.

Depends on where you are riding it. If you stay in bikeparks and backyards it's OK, but if you ride it in traffic you have to have brakes.

In German, you say "Fahrrad fahren" to mean riding a bike.
riding a bike can have an advantage over a plane because if you don't want to pay money than a bike is better and that riding a bike gives you cardio.

They're both good but in different ways. Swimming will usually provide more upper body workout, but bike riding will allow you to run errands, maybe commute to school/work while exercising. It's probably also easier to have access to a bike and somewhere to ride than to go to a pool.
