You have to remove the plastic cover at the top of the firewll on the passenger side. Unplug a brown wire (may not be brown) that is by itself and has a plastc clip connection. Start the truck and set the timing at 0 degrees and then plug the wire back in. This lets the computer change the timing to whatever is needed based on sensor inputs. Setting the timing is the same as other Chevy engines. Use a timing light and turn the distributor. If the truck doesn't run, you will have to turn the engine until the timing mark is on 0 and then lift up the distributor(will have to remove bolt) and turn it until the rotar is pointing at number one spark plug. Drop the distributor back down and turn it back and forth until it drops completely. If the truck does not fire or backfires out the throttle body, remove the didtributor and turn the rotor 180 and drop it in. To avoid this, you can take out number one spark plug, unplug the coil and have a friend bump the motor over until you can feel the air pushing your finger off the spark plug whole. This will ensure the motor is at top dead center and get it close enough to fire
all Chevy tbi's are to be set at 0 degrees
