No. Teachers, nor any of the school staff has the right to hit a child, for several reasons.
It is the parent's decision as to whether or not "capitol punishment" will be used on their child. Many parents today don't even use spanking as a form of punishment themselves. So if they won't hit their child as punishment at home, why should someone else be allowed to do so?
Also, what one teacher may consider a spanking offense, another one may not. I have seen teachers who were way too hasty in their punishment of students, and their punishment was way too severe.
There are other, more effective ways of disciplining a child. The teacher can require the child to do extra school work, detention, etc.
But under no circumstances should the teacher ever do anything that would harm the child, or cause any embarassment to the child. Things like that can stay with a child for years to come, causing severe emotional or self esteem problems.
While teachers do need to be allowed to discipline when necessary, it should be in the appropriate ways, and criticism should be constructive criticism, never in a way that is intended to humiliate the child.
Yes, students should be beaten at school. Discipline teaches children how to follow rules, and that poor choices have consequences. Suspension teaches children that if they misbehave, they get rewarded by getting out of school for a few days.
i don't agree no school should whip the children if they need to be punished then they should get hot sauce on their tongue.
no
being able to hit the children
The Magic Meatball says" hit him in the nuts with a sledgehammer".
Probably not: The only Scantlebury who was a geography teacher at Holland Park School in the 1970's was not English. He had a very short temper, threw objects at children and generally behaved in a way which was permissible in the days of corporal punishment when it was was OK to humiliate as well as hit children.
no this school is not a good school they hit children
Type your answer here... I thiink you should walk away if someone is bothering you. No one should hit anyone at school especially boys should not hit girls.
It depends on what said child did, does the punishment fit the crime?
It's called discipline. If the child misbehaves, they get hit to put them in check. I don't even know if they still do that. The Samoan government are working to ban corporal punishment in schools. I attended school in Samoa and the teachers in high school dont use corporal punishment. Only the ones in primary schools. It's disgusting & very sad and should be STOPPED!
Yes the adults should not hit or damage their children in Australia because it's illegal to hit or damage their children. Judicious smacking with an open hand, however, is not illegal.
because the children couldnt either: write neatly or they messed about or they was naughty or late to school
Of course not! If your mother physically harms you in anyway at all, it is called child abuse. You may be taken away from her if she abuses you. But, to be honest, many children get hit for punishment. So, it depends. Does she have a good reason to hit you? Or no?
Yes because they were hit and they had stricter rules
