no animal big or small land or water or amphibious should be kept in captivity. i have more to add but it's better left unsaid
I improved it in the format of a balanced argument (so far I've only done the against):
Against: Marine animals live in the oceans for a few reasons. 1) It has water with the right amount of every element and 2) It needs a lot of space to migrate and stuff. Marine and wildlife centers violate both needs: 1) no marine/wildlife center can provide the EXACT amount of each element and 2) They definitely DO NOT provide enough space to migrate.
It depends on what each person thinks. Everybody believes something else. I believe that if a marine animal is seriouly hurt they should be helped by humans if the wound is fixed and if possible, the animal should be released into the wild. If the animal cannot be released for medical reasons then I think it should be put into an aquarium and be taken care of. It all depends on a persons personal view. You can think something else, but, I think that if the animal is taken from that sea and you want to keep it, and its not injured, please don't, the sea is its home. It might have children or a family.
No. Orcas should not be put in captivity because it is wrong and cruel to the animals.
Ghandi once said:
" Our government is judged by how we treat our animals."
(that is in my own words)
absoulutely not, they are wild creatures in too small of tanks. what kind og Question is that?? do u belong in a zoo?
No. No animal should be held to entertain people.
uhh sea world?
yes, they do its a shame, orcas life spans are often shortened by captivity
about six
No. In captivity Orcas can live up to around 20 years. But wild orcas that were never in captivity live a lot longer and male Orca is closer to 30 years and a female is expected to live in the wild from birth up to 50 years
Killer Whale captivity says it all in the name. It is when orcas or killer whales are taken from the wild and put into captivity. Majority of orcas in captivity are used for entertainment purposes like Sea World as a example. Orca captivity do bring issues like massive reduction in life expectancy and the collapse of dorsal fins which isn't ever seen in wild.
Shamu is a stage name. The orcas have their own names. There are currently 40 orcas in captivity.
The kind of conservation efforts going on is to reduce human activity impact. This includes managing number of orcas killed annually and to control amount of pollution going into the sea. As well, there are campaigns to end captivity of orcas and try to free some of the orcas that haven't got fully used to captivity and nurture it if it was to be sent back to the wild.
No!!
The prisoner was held in captivity for 30 years after killing the man.
In the wild, it's even rare to see Orcas attacking each other but in captivity like at sea world, death doesn't occur but certainly orcas do attack each other in captivity sometimes due to different orcas from different pods (family) cramped into a limited area which acts like a prison.
wild mammals should not be held in captivity because if the whales are in the aquariams, they bang their heads against the walls out of boredom and limmit to swimming. an example is the star of free willy had a teeth disease and a problem with his dorsal fin.
No. Lolita is the oldest orca in captivity, being 40 years of age when one of the oldest live wild orcas is 99 years of age
If a coyote is being held or protected in captivity it will live for about 20 years.
