It is not recommended that students and teachers become friends on social networks. Because students are minors and can make social faux pas and not protect privacy teachers should be careful.

β 11y agoNo, because they said in the 2012 news paper that a musical theater Charles Willis was suspended in 2010 from Braden river High School in Florda for friending students on facebook more than 100 students and illegally posting inappropriate images and using inappropriate words. He is now in none of the schools. Anything can happen on facebook, if teachers really want to be facebook friends with students then they should use twitter becasue it is a lot safer than facebook

β 8y agoThis is entirely up to you and your teacher. Personally, I don't think you should try to be friends with a teacher or employer. Keep the relationship professional, and that means you don't really want them to see all your personal stuff on Facebook.

β 12y agoYes, it is illegal to. But, it's legal to make another facebook page just for students to add you. On your real facebook, you can add past students.
