Probably not. There are a number of things involved in running a school that the students simply don't have experience in. Everything from legal issues, money, curriculum, maintenance, program development. I mean running a school is a whole lot more than just having kids and teachers show up in the same room every day.

Why were board schools called board schools?

Board schools may refer to schools that are run by a school board, a group of people elected by the people in the school district to oversee the schools. In this case, schools would be called board schools because they are overseen by a school board. More commonly, boarding schools are those for which at least some students live in residences at the school while school is in session. These schools are called boarding schools because some students reside at the school.

How many schools are in papua new guinea?

Schools in Papua New Guinea are either private or government run. Private schools include an international or a church/mission curriculum that is implemented alongside the national curriculum. Private schools are much more expensive due to the higher quality of education, and as a result, expatriates tend to send their children to such schools, including nationals who can afford to. Government run schools are less fortunate. In urban centres government schools are functional but overpopulated with as much as 40-50 students to one teacher. Rural schools are fairly run-down with little to no equipment for teachers and students to use. The isolation, poor payment, housing conditions cause a lot of teachers to leave the schools. Many students in government run schools do not complete their education and very few return - well-past their learning-age repeating subjects they need to complete which will take them to higher-learning institutions like colleges and universities.

Is the University of Phoenix a private school?

Let's define our terms a little better. Public schools are those that are, ultimately, run by "the government" (in the US, by a state government). They get money from the state to operate (they also charge fees, and usually out-of-state students are charged extra). Private schools are those run by some organization other than the government. They usually charge higher fees, but don't charge out-of-state students extra. The University of Phoenix is a private school with an added twist: it's actually run for profit (all public schools, and many private schools, just try to break even).
