If you are at rest, yes!
Average, "normal" heart rates are 60 to 80 beats per minute and can go up to 100 BPM with emotional or physical activity. The heart rate should drop to baseline after stopping the activity. Heart rate above 100 at rest indicate something is not right.

Hmm. For normality +100BPM is tachycardic, but I have a heart problem and my resting rate is 110! I would go to my doctor for a good checkup so that he/she can listen to your heart and lungs, preferably do an EKG or refer you for one, and perhaps do some routine blood tests...108 is borderline abnormal and needs checking out if you are lying down with no other variables...

∙ 14y agoA normal / healthy pulse rate is dependent on age, gender, and activity level.
For an adult, normal pulse rate can range anywhere from 60-100 beats per minute, but again, that is dependent upon activity levels as well as gender. Males tend to have a slightly slower pulse rate than Females.
In younger children (up to around 10 or so), considering the variables which pulse rate is dependent on, the normal ranges from 70-120 beats per minute. (Older children and teens fall into the adult pulse rate category).
In infants, the normal pulse rate ranges from 100-160 beats per minute.
And so, in answer to the question, I would say that no that is not too high necessarily.

∙ 7y agoIf any person had a continuous, sustained heart beat of 40 per minute, you would be extremely sick or already unable to sustain life. Heart rate below 60 is considered too low. Make sure a qualified medical professional checks your heart rate because it is easy to mis-count your own heart rate.
