Outside wall is going to be the coldest, has the windows that let cold in. For comfort, you want the heat on the outside wall. ( To add to my fellow compatrons statement )
You should consider placing them under major window areas on outer walls with major
drafts through the windows as well. Windows are one of your very largest areas to deal with in heat load calculations and should always be adressed with vigor for drafts.
Go to your power panel and look for two pole breakers. If there are any 20 amp two pole breakers there is a good chance that they are for the baseboard heaters. Switch this breaker off and turn your thermostat up. If the baseboard heaters do not come on and get hot then this is the supply for them. A two pole breaker is supplying 240 volts to the heaters. Most likely there will be more that one heater on the circuit. As always, if you are in doubt about what to do, the best advice anyone should give you is to call a licensed electrician to advise what work is needed. Before you do any work yourself,on electrical circuits, equipment or appliances, always use a test meter to ensure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized.IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOBSAFELY AND COMPETENTLYREFER THIS WORK TO QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS.
From 100 to 150 mm from the front face of the baseboard heater.
To securely attach the baseboard, nail it into the wall studs using finishing nails. This will provide a strong and stable connection.
If it has one it should be on the cold water side at the top of the tank. All heaters do not have one and the main water line has to be shut off instead.
For installing baseboard trim, it is recommended to use 18-gauge brad nails that are 2 inches in length.
so you stay warm
About 150 deg.
Use whatever sealer is recommended for the paint or stain that your going to use to finish with. Just be sure to seal the baseboard on all surfaces, front, back, top and bottom
You have to be creative and selective but try thinking outside the box instead.
All water heaters should have a pressure relief valve, otherwise they could burst.
You should always keep the heaters away from fabrics or things that are flammable. I would also purchase some type of barrier toseparateyour children from the heaters as they can reach dangerous temperatures for infants.
Water heaters should never be set above 120-125 deg. F to prevent scalding and keep operating costs down.
