No, not literally.

ANOTHER ANSWER:

Trust it to do what? Trust is earned through consistent results... good or bad. You can also trust an evil person to do evil.

Jesus Christ reveals through His prayer to His Father in heaven that the Bible [His Father's WORDS; His nourishing BREAD] is the TRUTH! Truth [manna from heaven] that "sanctifies" [sets apart for God's Holy use and purpose] those who believe and "trust" in it to not steer them wrong:

"Sanctify them [set your trusting servants apart from the world] THROUGH THY WORD: thy Word IS TRUTH." (John 17:17 KJV)

[Does trust in God's Word, the Bible, the TRUTH... REALLY "sanctify" people [set people apart] from the rest of the world? Profess in public sometime your Faith and Trust in the Truth of the Bible and see how people separate themselves from you. Oh, how far apart you will be set apart!]

Do you trust what Jesus says? If so, then you can trust the Bible to:

"...teach us WHAT IS TRUE and to MAKE US REALIZE WHAT IS WRONG IN OUR LIVES. It STRAIGHTENS US OUT and TEACHES US TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT. It is God's way of PREPARING US in every way, FULLY EQUIPPED FOR EVERY GOOD THING God wants us to do." (II Tim.3:16-17 NLT New Living Translation)

The Bible is God's Personal Spiritual Instruction book, the reading, study of, and compliance with, which feeds and nourishes the "humble, child-like, innocent, trusting" human mind and heart for the development and growth of Perfect, Righteous, Godly Character [the developmental Spiritual Gestation of a future Child of God].

It "CAN" be trusted... but most people's spirits have been blinded by this world's god, who deceived the very first two people God made [see Gen.3]... and who has been doing it to all the generations of their children ever since [Rev.12:9]. Therefore, the Bible "ISN'T" believed or trusted by the vast majority of mankind.

This world believes and trusts in the lies of its god:

"...you are the children of your father the Devil... THERE IS NO TRUTH IN HIM. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for HE IS A LIAR and THE FATHER [originator, progenitor] OF LIES. So WHEN I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, you just naturally DON'T BELIEVE ME [you don't TRUST Me]!" (John 8:44 NLT)

The Bible tells us that those Jews to whom Jesus spoke "believed on Him" [verse 30]... but they didn't BELIEVE or TRUST WHAT HE SAID [they didn't see, perceive, or believe His Father's Words - the SANCTIFYING SPIRITUAL TRUTH of the Bible]. And because of that... THEY WANTED HIM DEAD!

"...some of you are trying to kill Me because My Message does not FIND A PLACE IN YOUR HEARTS." (verse 37 NLT)

"I told you THE TRUTH I heard from God, but YOU ARE TRYING TO KILL ME... No, you are OBEYING YOUR REAL FATHER when you act that way." (verse 41)

Mankind CAN trust what the Bible says. But the vast majority of the world DOESN'T... because its collective spirit is blinded to the TRUTH and believes and trusts in the LIES of its god.

Whether you trust the gospels is a matter of faith. If you are a Christian you should trust the gospels. Bear in mind, however, that there is good reason to believe that the gospels are not historically accurate and therefore should not be read literally. But that does not change their inherent message if you are a Christian.

The four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are all by anonymous writers. Knowing this, one must be a Christian of tremendous faith to put their trust on the Gospels.

What makes Jehovah's Witnesses interpretation of the Bible truthful?

Each person must decide for themselves what is truthful. So, while it is truthful to one of Jehovah's Witnesses, it would not be truthful to a person practicing a different faith, because that person would think what he/she believes is truthful. To determine whether or not a person would find out if Jehovah's Witnesses are truthful, one would have to first decide if belief in God is truthful, then would have to be convinced the Bible is the word of God, and then would have to examine the Bible to see if what Jehovah's Witnesses teach is from the Bible. People who have taken those steps have either agreed or disagreed with the interpretation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
