There's not much evidence that electric toothbrushes are better than manual toothbrushes. But it's very clear that they're not worse. In the case of the ones with timers, their biggest benefit is probably just getting you to brush as long as you should (two or three minutes). There is some evidence that electric toothbrushes that spin in both directions, like some made by Oral-B, are better than manual brushes. My dentist recommended a two-speed electric toothbrush. The faster speed is for your teeth, the slower speed is for your gums. You need to be gentle with your gums.
Electric toothbrushes rotate or vibrate faster than a manual toothbrush could be moved. This means that despite brushing for the same length of time each tooth will have a more thorough cleaning.
The main benefit of using an electric toothbrush is it will allow you to brush more strokes per minute. This can give you a more complete clean than a manual brush. Secondly the brushes usually will turn off after the appropriate amount of time. This will prevent over or under brushing.
Owning and using an electric toothbrush does have some advantages. The main advantage is the ability of an electric toothbrush to reach spots a manual cannot, and the power behind the brushing action means a more effective cleaning than a manual can usually deliver.
Some benefits of Braun toothbrushes which are electric is that they clean more thoroughly than manual ones. Electric toothbrushes also offer tongue cleaning features which manual toothbrushes do not.
Some benefits of using Braun Oral toothbrush are: Preventing bleeding, spare accessories, different cleaning modes, promotes healthy gums, not very expensive.

Electric toothbrushes themselves do not decrease cavities. Cavities are more likely to form in the areas a person does not reach with their regular brush. Some do just fine with a regular manual brush where others do better with the electric.
