There are many signs people may THINK the world will end, but in all reality, it is just the beginning. The world could end at any time of day or minute. 2012 is a comment misconception of when the world will end, when you cannot really predict it. In 2012, the Myan calender ends, which got many people thinking that the world will end in 12-12-12, but this is a misunderstanding. The Myan calender resets itself. The world was predicted to end in 2000, but it didn't. But, what you choose to believe is your choice. In the end, i guess we are all right.

The signs and wonders in the sky occur just before Jesus returns in the Day of the Lord. They are revealed in the "sixth seal" of Revelation chapter six... and in Matthew 24:29, just before Jesus sends His angels to gather His saints into the clouds in verses 30-31.
They are the same signs the prophets of old speak of as preceeding the Day of the Lord: "...the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, BEFORE the great and the terrible Day of the Lord come." (Joel 2:31)
"Woe unto you that desire the Day of the Lord!... the Day of the Lord is darkness, and not light..." (Amos 5:18).
