Sims 3 isn't working why?

First, the old trick: Restart your game.

If it's still not working right, delete your cache files - located in:

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\

Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3

Delete these files:

• CasPartCache.package
• compositorCache.package
• scriptCache.package
• simCompositorCache.package

Also delete any and all files in the WorldCaches folder (if you have one).

If you're using custom content or mods, then try getting rid of them.

Finally, update your game, there'll probably be some fixes for glitches and bugs.

The same thing was happening for me, but it depends on what happens when your sims stops working. For me i could play my sims for 10 to 15 min. but after that it froze up then turned black. I had to start the task manager every time. If this is what is happening to your sims3 then you should listen to my answer. At first we thought of calling the sims people but don't its a waste of time. The problem for my sims game was the computer was to old, and it couldn't handle the game. The game takes alot of memory and other high teck computer stuff. So go to a friends house with a newer computer and try it on theirs and if it works then consider getting a new system. But next time read the needs of the game and don't brush it off. ITS SERIOUS!
