That is when an expert determines what a coin is worth.
i have a coin = 1992-1993 50p coin with certificate of authenticity =
The cost varies a bit depending on the market for its component metals - mostly copper, but with manganese, zinc, and nickel to give it that golden color. In the last couple of years the price has averaged about 14 to 16 cents per coin. That price is one reason cited in favor of replacing $1 bills entirely. An individual bill costs less to print (around 6 or 7 cents) but $1 bills wear out so quickly compared to coins - < 2 years for a bill vs. 30+ years for a coin - that the life-cycle cost of a bill is far higher.
The value of a 1990 Eisenhower gold commemorative coin depends on the condition of the coin. On average the coin would be worth approximately $26.

Basically this means invest in your own knowledge because in the end, it's knowledge that will make you rich literally and figuratively.
Copper coins are made of metal, as copper is a metal. However, most coins are not pure copper. In the US, the modern penny (one cent) is copper-coated zinc. There is copper in dimes, quarters and half-dollars as the inner "sandwich" of clad coins, between layers of zinc. There is also copper in the Presidential $1 coins, because the coins are made of brass (88.5% copper, with zinc, manganese, and nickel), the same alloy used in the earlier Sacajawea $1 coin.
He proposed that every thing is `made up` of `cells`. Also, his law of elasticity. There is more information but my knowledge is limited on him.

To solve this problem. post a picture of the coin in question and then I might be of further help P.S. Platinum coins are worth about a thousand dollars
