True, sound waves can travel in all three mediums , solids liquids and gases
We hear sounds in gas medium.
Sonar is an application for sound in liquid.
Sound can make solids vibrate upon moving.

∙ 13y agosound waves can only travel through particles as particles vibrate. this is why solids let sound pass easiest as the vibrations are passed on the easiest. in a vacuum there is no sound because there are no particles

∙ 7y agoYes sound travels through gas, liquids, and solids. All these pass sound waves by vibrating. Sound can not pass through a vacuum since there is nothing to vibrate and carry the sound. Additionally, some materials may be able to vibrate but not enough to carry sound and the result is that they absorb the sound. These are used as sound insulators. Examples are foam rubber material and fiber glass home wall insulation.

∙ 7y agoSound waves need a medium (substance) to travel through. Air, water, and metal can all act as mediums for sound waves. The molecules of the substance are slightly disturbed from there equilibrium position as the sound wave passes by. Empty space does not have any atoms or molecules, so sound waves are not able to travel through empty space.

True. It can , PROOF: our hearing for gas, SONAR for water and vibration for solids.

Sound can not propagate through empty space. The space between Sun and Earth is empty for all practical purposes.
Because empty space cannot propagate sound.
No. Sound is distributed by the collision of molecules/atoms transferring energy to each other. Space or vacuum, by definition is completely empty, with no molecules to facilitate this transfer, and hence sound cannot propogate through space. The movie 'Alien' famously had the line 'In space, no one can hear you scream' or something along those linesThis answer is perfectly correct, but to those who do not (the very few) understand this text, this answer is, literally: In space or vaccum, sound does not travel because sound is transferred through cells, molecules/atoms, as you say, and there is nothing there, no cells or atoms or molecules, therefore the sound cannot be passed on. -.- that was absolutely pointless, but I'm currently, very, very bored.Sound does not travel through a vacuum.Sound requires a medium to travel thru. Since there is nothing in a vacuum, there are no particles to transmit the sound.
Most of the solar energy we get comes through radiation. So we get more energy via radiation, than conduction.
to transport the sound or the sound energy.
sound cannot travel through empty space.
No.
Sound waves cannot travel through an empty space because an empty space is usually a vacuum.
no
Well light is an electromagnetic wave and it pushes itself through space ,but sound requires particles to travel through and if there are no particles for it to travel through you have no sound
Because there are no enough molecules in empty space for sound to be propagated.
Sound cannot be produced in empty space because there is no air to carry it. Sound is carried from person to person through talking because the vibrations travel through the oxygen molecules, which your ear picks up on and sends signals to your brain. Without molecules to vibrate, no sound can be produced.
Why cant sound travel through empty space

Sound cannot travel in empty space. But, sound may be able to travel through your body.
