Current electricity requires an energy source, it would not flow unless there is a complete circuit to flow through continuously and it only flow through conductors where as static electricity does not require all of these. you have static electricity because it keeps electrons from moving and here is an example........ lets say you hit a candle and you thought that you hit it hard but it didn't fall over because the static electcity didn't let it fall
