The first thing that is necessary to enter an expressway is to get on the on ramp. At this time, you should speed up the car so that you can enter traffic at their current speed. Then put on the blinker and move into a lane when able.
- As you enter the On Ramp, make sure to look into the lane far enough ahead to keep from turning wide off the road
- Glance over your shoulder in the direction you're going to merge with traffic
- Find a safe gap in traffic and adjust your speed to fit in it (remember merging Vehicle's have more responsibility to avoid a collision)
- Signal in the direction you're merging
- Accelerate to the legal speed and maintain a safe space cushion
When entering an expressway, never stop in the acceleration lane unless traffic is stopped. This would cause an accident if the traffic was not moving and a persons car was continuing to accelerate.
Traffic congestion, an insufficient acceleration ramp prior to merging onto the expressway, weather conditions, blockage of the roadway.

There are 10 expressways, most of them ends with E (stands for expressway) like KJE (Kranji Expressway), CTE (Central Expressway) and PIE (not the pie you eat but Pan-Island Expressway) except for one special expressway called ECP (East Coast Parkway), maybe due to the fact it has a E in front (or it becomes ECE) or maybe because it just runs along the East Coast Park.
