Yes Dimitri is made into a strigoi in the 3rd or 4th book. In the 5th book Rose finds a way to turn him back but it involves Lissa using spirit and learning to fight, which Rose isn't happy about at all. Dimitri is eventually turned back without bonding to Lissa like Rose. He doesn't quite act the same though.

No, Dimitri from Vampire Academy is not a Strigoi. He becomes a Strigoi temporarily due to being turned into one by other Strigoi, but with the help of Rose, he is restored back to his original Dhampir form.

∙ 13y agoStrigoi are more stereotypical vampires, they are very strong, cannot go out in sunlight, are very fast and also kill people to drink there blood!
In Vampire Academy, they were at one point, either Dhampire, moroi or human! This is why it is so strange that they suddenly want to kill everyone that they were once in a community with!
