Case, Tower, Chassis, or Rack. The terminology is not standardized and changes from region to region, company to company, and user to user.
Most commonly 'Case' and 'Tower' are used by normal desktop users. 'Chassis' is used in European countries and by businesses. 'Rack' is usually in reference to Chassis for servers or Rackmount units.
It should be noted that according to the A+ Certification, the correct term is 'Chassis'. This is also the 'correct' term according to Microsoft and IBM. Other certifications may disagree. Take with a grain of salt.

CPU: Also known as the central processing unit, it is the core component of the entire computer. When executing all instructions such as data operation and transmission, it needs to follow the guidance of the central processing unit. As the heart of the entire computer, it controls all the information processing of the computer.
CPU is the "commonly known as" name of that component. Either CPU or Processor. The acronym CPU stands for "Central Processing Unit". The previous answer of "mother bored" is completely wrong for 2 reasons: 1) it is "motherboard" or "mother board" 2) the CPU is a required add-on component TO the motherboard, not the motherboard itself.
The Central Processing Unit or CPU.
The "primary circuit board" for a computer is called the "Motherboard". This is the board that contains the housing and sockets for all of the coprocessors, resistors, and circuit pathways that make your computer operate. This board also contains expansion slots, in which you insert expansion cards, extending the capabilities of the system.
In order for a PC to run you will need the following: Power Supply (most important as it supplies power to your PC) Motherboard (think of it as the spinal cord of your PC) CPU (the brains, will not run without it) RAM (this is the memory in which your OS and applications are run from) Hard Drive (this is where your Operating System is stored, as well as data) These are the electronic components needed to run a PC. However there are other items needed to run it effeciently and safely: A PC tower (in which to store the electronic components) PC Fans (in order to keep the system cool which drastically increases it's efficiency and life) CPU cooler (another fan which keeps the CPU cool and running effectively) Mouse (in order to navigate the PC) Keyboard (in order to input information) Monitor (in order to see the information) There is a difference between running a PC, and operating a PC.
Many people would consider the central component of a computer to be the CPU, or Central Processing Unit.
Motherboard
CPU (central processing unit)
The CPU, Central Processing Unit, ALSO called the Processor interprets and carries out basic instructions on the computer.
Central Processing Unit.
The motherboard. Everything that is done is done through it.The most used on a computer hardware is the motherboard because it contains the circuitry and connections that allow the different various component to interact with each other and it a series of electronic path ways and allowing to access the central proccessing unit to interact with the other components of the computer

C.P.U.=central processing unitM.P.U=micro processing unitA central processing unit (CPU), or sometimes simply processor, is the component in a digital computer that interprets computer program instructions and processes data.A microcontroller (or MCU) is a computer-on-a-chip used to control electronic devices.
it is the central processing unit
It does the processing on your computer. Which is when your computer does... well... anything that requires AI (artificial intelligence). Anything from registering key input to loading applications to everything.
The main component of modern computer chips is Silicon.
