Characteristics of a substance can be used to identify it. Characteristics can be either physical or chemical.
Example:
Hydrogen, H2
Physical characteristics - a colourless, odourless diatomic gas. Density, solubility, boiling and melting point, specific gravity are all physical characteristics. A physical characteristic can be observed or measured without changing the nature of the substance.
Chemical characteristics - hydrogen reacts with oxygen exothermically to produce water. 2H2 + O2 --> 2H2O. Chemical characteristics change the nature of the substance ie how they react.
Properties are the special characteristics used to describe a substance. There are two special classifications of characteristics used to describe substances. Chemical properties are used to describe changes to them during reactions. Physical properties are its odor, color, state, mass, and other indicators that do not chemically change it.
A Lewis structure can be used to describe a substance without much ambiguity, though it become more difficult as the molecule becomes larger and more complex.
Chemical databases also give molecules serial numbers for easier identification.

The forming or breaking
In a heterogenous mixture you can see the different parts that make up the mixture. In a homogenous mixture one substance is dissolved in another and therefore only one substance is visible.

Mass and volume
No. Because a pure substance, no matter if an element, compound, it can only contain one kind of particle .
it is something that has to do with metabolism but maybe you can search it up or ask someone!
science fiction does the trick.
Chemical change
A pure substance is an element made of one type of atom. A compound is produced by 2 different elements combined to make a pure substance again, and that can be used with another pure substance to make another, and so on and so on. Basically, your answer is yes.
I suppose that you think to a reactant.
The forming or breaking
Water is a substance!!!! So how could you make houses with water. How could you make clothes with water. We need different substances for different things. !!!!!
The substance (usually a liquid) that can dissolve another substance is called a solvent. The substance that is being dissolved in a solution is called the solute.
In a heterogenous mixture you can see the different parts that make up the mixture. In a homogenous mixture one substance is dissolved in another and therefore only one substance is visible.
People are different from one another because of character. They may be unique in character, in looks and in attitudes. However, everyone has something similar, i.e. we're all human beings (and we share human characteristics and have feelings)
