transfers fuel to injector pump from tank
where is the fuel transfer pump located
It is also called a transfer pump. It lifts or transfers the fuel from the tank to the fuel injection pump on diesel vehicle.
The lift/transfer pump is in the fuel tank. The injection pump is on the left side of the timing cover.
If the question is how is it delivered ,then this how by transfer pump to the high pressure injector pump then through the nozzles.
It is in the fuel tank.
Fuel starvation, replace diesel filters first, then check lift pump for proper operation and fuel pressure. Also check for leaks in the fuel lines, and return lines...common problems on diesel engines.
I am going to say yes, is it safe NO, a transfer pump is cheaper, and designed to handle diesel, some hyd. pump seal can be destroyed by diesel fuel also. The only hyd. pump I would use if you had to would be a gear type pump
Gas engine: in the fuel tank Diesel engine: Was built with the transfer pump on the rear of the fuel filter housing. Chrysler currently relocates it to the fuel tank.
it controls fuel delivery to high pressure part of pump in common rail engines
transfer pump psi too low
