You have to replace what is called a "gas tank sending unit". This is a electrical device that inserts into the gas tank. The part cost about $100. Plus you have to find somebody that likes to work on gas tanks.

you need to replace the fuses in the computer

my 2000 oldsmobile did this after it got an antifreeze hose behind the motor and come find out ... the mechanic accidently broke off the VACCUM hose that goes from the top front of the motor to a couple connection areas.
The gauge itself is in the instrument cluster; it is the sending unit that is in the tank. Between the two is wiring and a fuse which should be checked before condemning the gauge or sending unit. jb
The temperature gauge on a car fluctuates because the car's thermostat is opening and closing. The gauge goes up when the thermostat closes and the gauge goes down when the thermostat opens.
if the water and oil levels are fine, then you may have a sensor going out
If the oil level is fine, your oil level sensor or the sensor wiring is malfunctioning. Same for the ABS system. Check ABS fuses.
Follow the rubber hose that goes to the intake manifold at the throttle body, it is the square part that bolts together to it you will see some wires there.
