That depends on the mirror. If the mirror is flat, the mirror image is as large as the object.

What describes image formation by a plane mirror?

The image in a plane mirror is the same size as the object, the same distance from the mirror, upright and laterally inverted.

Why do images in a concave mirror appear inverted?

If an object's distance from the concave mirror is greater than the mirror's focal length, then the mirror image of it will be inverted. If the distance from the concave mirror is less than the focal length of the mirror, the image will not be inverted. No image will be produced if the distance from the mirror to the object is equal to the mirror's focal length.

What are the 5 Properties of an image in a plane mirror?

Characteristics of an image formed by the plane mirror are :- * Virtual and erect (up right ) . * The image is of same size as that of the object . *The image is far behind the mirror as the object is in front of it . *The image is laterally inverted .

Is a plane mirror upright or inverted?

Actually a plane mirror inverts an image not side to side, but front to back. If you hold up your right hand in front of a mirror, the images of the parts of your hand closest to you will be the farthest away. It is this inversion that turns a left hand into a right hand, while leaving the thumbs on both hands pointing in the same direction.

When an object is inside the focal point of a concave mirror what kind of image always results?

An upright image, which is called a virtual image. If the focal point was outside of a concave mirror, then it would be a real image, which is inverted.

Which factor most influences the image produced by reflection of an object on a concave mirror?

The focal point. It can affect size, real/virtual, inverted/upright.

List 5 properties of a virtual image creaed by reflection from a plane mirror?

1. Image is upright 2. Image is virtual 3. Image is of same size as object 4. Image is laterally inverted 5. Distance from object to mirror is equal to the distance from the mirror to the image

What are the characteristics of a concave mirror?

A concave mirror is a converging mirror used in microscopes and telescopes. Characteristics include forming real and inverted and diminished images when an object is placed beyond the center of curvature or real, inverted and enlarged image when the object is placed between the center of curvature and focus.

What are the properties of images seen in a concave mirror if the object is farther from than the focal point?

The image formed is real, inverted, diminished and on the same side of the mirror as the object is.

The image formed by a convex spherical mirror will always be what?

The nature of the image is not constant. It varies with the distance between the object and the mirror.

When an object is inside the focal point of a concave mirror what kind of image always results?

An upright image, which is called a virtual image. If the focal point was outside of a concave mirror, then it would be a real image, which is inverted.

How would you describes the image formed by a convex mirror?

The image formed by a convex mirror is upright and larger than the object.
