" An ant's life begins as an egg. Ant eggs are soft, oval, and tiny - about the size of a period at the end of a sentence. Not all eggs are destined to become adults - some are eaten by nestmates for extra nourishment.
An egg hatches into a worm-shaped larva with no eyes or legs. Larvae are eating machines that rely on adults to provide a constant supply of food. As a result, they grow rapidly, molting between sizes.
When a larva is large enough, it metamorphosesinto a pupa. This is a stage of rest and reorganization. Pupae look more like adults, but their legs and antennae are folded against their bodies. They start out whitish and gradually become darker. The pupae of some species spin a cocoon for protection, while others remain uncovered, or naked.
Finally, the pupa emerges as an adult. Young adults are often lighter in color, but darken as they age. The process of development from egg to adult can take from several weeks to months, depending on the species and the environment. Did you know that ants, like all insects, are full-grown when they become adults? Their exoskeletons prevent them from getting any larger.
Furthermore, adult ants belong to one of three castes: queen, worker, or male.
Queens are females that were fed more as larvae. They are larger than workers and lay all the eggs in a colony - up to millions in some species! Queens initially have wings and fly to find a mate(s), but they tear them off before starting a new colony. A queen can live for decades under the right conditions.
Workers are females that were fed less as larvae. They do not reproduce, but perform other jobs, such as taking care of the brood, building and cleaning the nest, and gathering food. Workers are wingless and typically survive for several months.
Males have wings and fly to mate with queens. They live for only a few weeks and never help with the chores of the colony."" THIS INFO WAS COPIED FROM SOME ONE ELSE SO...
The Life Cycle of an Ant
All ants go through the same process to reach adult hood, this is known as the life cycle.
A colonies young is commonly known as the 'brood'.
The ant life cycle is a form of 'metamorphosis', it is the same process a caterpillar uses to change into a butterfly.
The life cycle process can take any where from a few weeks to up to a year to complete. This is dependant on surrounding temperatures, humidity and food available. In mature colonies, the brood are moved around the nest in order for them to be at optimum growing temperatures.
There are four stages: egg, larvae, pupa and sometimes adult. Queen ants can live fo up to 15 yrs.
Ants have 4 stage life cycles.they hatch from eggs and become larva after that they turn into pupas and then emerge from them as ants.
The workers collect the honeydew and the nectar. They also have battles with larger colonies and can be territorial.
answer it ya self you dumb dogs
A long time
The honeypot ant has the ability to steal honey from beehives. It is able to do this while going undetected.
Leptothorax ants need other ant species during parts of their life cycle. Honeypot ants will enslave members from other honeypot ant colonies. Another type of ant that enslaves other species is the Amazon ant (genus Polyergus).
LAVAE
Both the ant and the fly have the same life cycle
The name of an offspring depends on the stage within the life cycle you are referring. Offspring are either called larva or ant.
Be a queen live a life then die and get stepped on and never see anyone ever again
While honeypot ants eat, their abdomen can reach the size of a small grape. The ant itself is just the size of common red ants. Sometimes they swell up so much that they are rendered inable to move.
i dont really know but i'm trying to find out some information on the honeypot ant and i think they go to a place were theres honey and they suck it up threw there mouths or they store it in there behind. but if anybody sees this please try to find out how they get there food and please respond back! thank you
The Honeypot - 1920 is rated/received certificates of: UK:A
No honeypot (in a nutshell) is used to lure and trap hackers from stealing information on the system
Because they work hard
The main ant in A Bug's Life is called Flick.
