Haemoglobin is found in red blood cells in the blood. Its function is to carry oxygen to all parts of the body through oxygenated blood.
Red bloood cells carry oxygen through the body to be used by other cells. Red bloood cells contain hemoglobin which is derived from iron and is used to pick up and release the oxygen molecule.

Then the hemoglobin reaches the cell, the iron ion decomposes back to the more stable Fe +2 state, replacing the oxygen with a water molecule.
