hello, i add, meta-logically, may the single plate of DNA or genome which carry the symbol X be female, and the single plate of DNA or genome which carry the symbol Y be male, thus may the female child came from the female mother. thus the single plate of chromosome specify gender type but not the chromosome pair specify the gender type.

Yes. Sex is determined (mainly) by the pairing of X and Y chromosomes. The "XX" pairing results in female, and the "XY" pairing results in male. When the two donors' cells go through the process of reproduction, there cells split and divid in two. Giving the female two X cells, and giving the male one X cell and one Y cell. Therefore all the female's reproductive cells carry the X chromosome. Whereas, in male's they are either X or Y. Which ever one finds its squirmy little way into the female's egg, is what will match up with the females X chromosome and form either a male or a female. :)

no the sex of an offspring is entirely determined by the male, this is because at the very end of our DNA there are to chromosomes that determine our sex. a female has two x's and a male has one x and one y. each of the parents contributes one, obviously the female can only contribute an x, so it entirely depends upon the male.

No, it is determined by the male's chromosome. If the male gives X, the offspring will be female. If the male gives Y, the offspring will be male. Females only give out X chromosomes because they only have X chromosomes (XX).

Depends on the male ....since male has both x and y chromosome....while female has only XX chromosome.... Thus it depends on male
