The ozone layer (molecular formula O3) filters out most of the UV-A and UV-B rays which can harm organisms by damaging DNA within their cells. This layer is mainly in the stratosphere which is 10-50km above the earth's surface where the conditions persist which allow ozone to be formed. If you brought all of the ozone in the atmosphere down to sea level it would make a layer less then 1mm thick!! Hense protecting it by reducing production of CFCs (1 molecule of CFCs destroys around 1000 molecules of ozone) is so important
Most of the life on earth i.e. the plants, human beings, animals( terrestrial) are found on the crust of the earth which would be mentioned as the lowermost layer of atmosphere that is troposphere.
Troposphere consists of all the essential gases for the survival of not one but every individual living thing for its survival.
The ozone layer present in the stratosphere region of the earth is most vital for supporting life on earth. It protects us by blocking the harmful ultraviolet radiations from the sun and allowing the useful ones to pass through.
The layer in atmosphere that shield's life on earth is ozone. It is called as ozone layer too. It is a pool of large amount of gases present in large concentration.
Ozone layer is the layer that shields. It is a pool of ozone molecules which help us stopping the ultraviolet.

The ozone layer
The form of radiation shielded by atmosphere is Ultraviolet. The Ultraviolet is a part of radiation released by our star sun.
Ozone layer present in the stratosphere region of the earth acts as a shield to the sun's harmful radiations. It blocks the harmful ultraviolet radiations and allows the useful ones to pass through.
The ozone layer present in the stratospheric region of the atmosphere protects the earth from the dangerous rays coming from the sun. These radiations are known as ultraviolet radiations and can cause problems like skin cancer and eye cataract in humans.
The ozone layer is of very much significance in the atmosphere. It blocks the ultraviolet radiations of sun and acts as a shield for earth.
This is because it prevents the excess entry of ultraviolet rays to the earth therefore acting as a shield.
According to most earth science curriculums, the four functions of the atmosphere are: * To let in light * To provide oxygen * To re-radiate heat * To shield the earth from ultraviolet rays and foreign objects
The ozone layer consisting of ozone molecules protect us. It is a shield for blanket of earth.
The ozone layer. It protects from ultraviolet.
The ozone layer shields away the UV's. It contains the ozone gas for that purpose.
The shield protects life on earth from deadly radiation by deflecting the radiation away from the atmosphere. It also prevents the atmosphere from being blown away by the solar wind.

Ultraviolet light does come through the Earth's atmosphere. These are the waves that cause sunburn, and are usually referred to as UV rays.
The atmosphere protects life on Earth by absorbing ultraviolet solar radiation, warming the surface through heat retention (greenhouse effect), and reducing temperature extremes between day and night.
