It was written in 1850 by Alfred Lord Tennyson in his poem "In Memoriam:27" I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
i think it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. Because at least you had some experience and made mistakes that you can learn from it. Normally, after losing love, you'll be depressed, but then once you're over the depression you will know how to make you're mistakes and you're experiences help you in the future. I mean, being never loved, really means that you'll never know really, what IS the real world and really won't help you be more insightful and understanding about things. I think having loved and lost is better - if i can even use that word. You likely have warm memories. If youd never loved youd feel an intense emptyness since a young age.
