what is the maximum towing capacity for the Chevrolet silerado truck 4.8 liter engine extra cab d
6,000 pounds
The towing capacity of a 1998 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado with a 5.0-liter engine typically ranges from 5,000 to 6,000 pounds, depending on the specific configuration and equipment of the truck. Factors such as axle ratio, transmission type, and whether the truck is equipped with towing packages can influence this capacity. Always consult the owner's manual or a dealership for the most accurate information specific to your vehicle.
If you own a Chevy Silverado with a 4.8 liter V-8, it generates 302HP. Depending on the configuration, it has a towing capacity of between 7,000, for a Silverado XFE, and the way up to 10,700 pounds.

Since the Owner's Manual does not give the towing capacity, I contacted a local dealer and was told the towing capacity for the 1994 Silverado Z71 was 7200 pounds. This information was not taken out of a manual, but came from one of the technitions who stated he owned a Silverado. I have not been able to verify this as of yet.
