You can get a new key for your 1999 Toyota Corolla by visiting a Toyota dealership. Many car manufacturers make their keys in such a way that they're impossible to copy at any place other than a dealership as an anti theft precaution.
You will need to take it to your local Toyota dealer as they have the specialist equipment needed to program a new key to your vehicle. Make sure you take a 'master' key along with you as the vehicle's computer wont allow new keys to be reprogrammed without one. This is usually the black key with the unlock buttons on it (the grey button-less keys are usually slave keys).
Call your dealer, it's possible that you can get a spare set of keys.
We have 3 Toyotas and the keys have bent on 2 of them. Just make a new key if you don't have one already and everything should work just fine again. It did for us.

hi; had the ignition key cylinder replace June 9,08 on a 1995 corolla. i could turn the key half way for the radio to come on; but could not turn all the way to start the car. i found out that you have to take it to the dealer to get it fix so that they can make the keys for it. the cost was around $425 with keys; what a hassel i went through.
